How to play
- Everyone has four pieces at home. The aim is to get your four, then your partner's, into the lane before the other team.
- Four cards are dealt to each player every time, and the played and burnt cards are shuffled back into the deck when it runs low. The player on the dealer's left starts, and play passes to the left.
- On your turn, play a card and move a piece with it. An Ace or a King brings a piece from home onto its base.
- Ace brings a piece out or moves 1 or 11, King brings a piece out, Queen moves 12, Jack swaps your piece with another player's, Ten moves 10, Seven moves 7, split between two pieces if you like, Five moves your piece 5, Four moves 4 back, and the other cards move their number.
- Landing on a piece sends it home, even your partner's. You can never pass your own pieces, and nothing passes two pieces side by side or a piece on its base.
- You enter the lane with an exact count. If no card gives you a move, you burn one.
- Once all your pieces are in, you play your partner's.
Scoring and winning
- Jackaroo has no points: the first team to get all eight pieces into the lane wins.
- In games with online players, the result counts toward your Jackaroo rating and the season leaderboard.
