How to play
- The Baloot pack: 7 to ace in each suit, 32 cards, 8 each. Play goes anticlockwise.
- Doubling: before play, from the dealer's right, each player says double or pass. The first double doubles the hand and ends the doubling, and the other team may answer three to make it triple.
- The holder of the 7♦ plays it first, whoever dealt.
- Then each player in turn plays one card: the next card up on a started row (the 8 on the 7, up to the ace), or the 7 of a suit not yet started.
- You must play while any card fits. With none, say jella and the turn passes. A player down to one card announces it.
- The hand ends when a player empties their hand, and their team wins it.
Scoring and winning
- The winning team scores the cards left in the two opponents' hands: ace 20; king, queen and jack 10 each; 7 to 10 nothing. The winner's partner's cards do not count.
- Points are doubled after a double and tripled after a three.
- If the winner's last card is a 7, 200 is added, and it is not multiplied.
- The first team to reach 500 wins.
