How to play
- A board of four crossing arms with the kitchen in the middle, every piece's goal. Each player has four pieces that start in the base.
- You throw six shells and count the closed ones: none is 6 (shakkeh), one is 10 plus a khal (dast), 2, 3 and 4 count as themselves, five is 25 plus a khal (bunj) and six is 12 (bara).
- The khal is an extra one-step value. A special throw, shakkeh, dast, bunj or bara, gives another throw until a normal one comes; then you spend all the values in any order on any pieces.
- A piece enters the board only with a dast, a bunj or a khal: a dast puts it on the X square to the right of your arm's tip, a bunj on the square marked / on the arm to your right, and a khal on the first square of the kitchen path.
- Landing on an opposing piece on an unsafe square sends it back to base, even two of them. Squares marked X are safe: you cannot land there on an opposing piece.
- A piece goes once all the way round the board before taking the path to the kitchen, and entering the kitchen needs the exact count.
Winning
- You must move while any value can be used; when none can, your turn passes.
- The first player to get all four pieces into the kitchen wins, and the game ends at once.
