How to play
- 52 cards, 13 each, ace high. Whoever holds the 7♥ in the first deal owns the first kingdom.
- The owner plays the kingdom's five contracts in the order they choose, one per deal: King of Hearts, Queens, Diamonds, Ltoosh and Trix. Then the kingdom passes to the player on their right.
- In the trick contracts the owner leads, you must follow suit if you can, there are no trumps, and the highest card of the suit led takes the trick and leads next.
- Penalties: the K♥ costs 75, each queen 25, each diamond 10, and each trick in Ltoosh 15.
- Doubling: in King of Hearts and Queens, a player holding the card may show it before the first lead; its taker then loses double and the player who showed it gains its value once.
- Trix: a jack starts each suit's line, which then builds up to the ace and down to the 2; a card goes only next to an end of its line. You must play if you can, otherwise you pass.
Scoring and winning
- In Trix the first player out scores 200, the second 150, the third 100 and the last 50.
- Every kingdom sums to zero: the trick contracts' penalties equal Trix's gains.
- After four kingdoms (20 deals) the highest total wins; in teams, with partners opposite, the higher team total wins.
