How to play
- 13 cards each every round, ace high. Suit order from the top: no-trump, spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs.
- Dash call: before bidding each player is asked; a dash caller undertakes to take no tricks and stays out of the bidding. At most two players a round may go dash.
- The call: players bid a number from 4 to 13 with a suit or no-trump; each bid must be higher, and a pass is final. The highest bidder sets trump and leads.
- Then every other player estimates their own tricks, from 0 to the caller's number; estimating the same number is With. The estimates may not add up to 13, so the last estimator has one number barred, and is Risk when the total misses 13 by 2 or more.
- In the last five rounds trump is fixed in order: no-trump, spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs, unless a call of 8 or more names another suit (super call).
- Follow suit if you can, otherwise play anything; the highest trump wins the trick.
Scoring and winning
- Hit your estimate exactly and you win 10 plus your tricks, 10 more as caller or With, 10 more as the only winner and 10 more per Risk level.
- Miss it and you lose the difference, 10 more as caller or With, 10 more as the only loser and 10 more per Risk level.
- A dash call wins or loses 25 when the estimates add up to more than 13, and 33 when they add up to less.
- If all four lose, the round scores nothing and the next counts double. After 18 rounds (or 10) the highest total wins.
